Congratulations to our #BootcampMzansi champion, Bonginkosi!

The season finale of Boot Camp Celeb EditionMzansi was finally held on Sunday night after it was postponed last Sunday to make way for the crowning of Miss South Africa.
The finale was hosted by Kuli Roberts. This edition of Boot Camp was my favourite so far and it kept me glued to my seat from the day it premiered. I never missed an episode.
The Finalists Hlengiwe and Bonginkosi
When the two finalists, Bonginkosi and Hlengiwe were introduced on stage, Mary, with her over flowing sense of humour exclaimed: “Aren’t you sick Bonginkosi? No! No! You are sick Bonginkosi.”
I was not shocked at Mary’s reaction because that was the very same reaction I had when the Boot Camp master, NonhleNdala, decided to bring the then final three, including Tsepiso back to the house. I thought Bonginkosi had lost too much weight and looked too thin and too frail.
The former housemates had an opportunity to reflect on some of the best and worst moments during their stay in the boot camp house.

They also had an opportunity to tell their trainer, Nonhle exactly what they thought of her. Most of the eliminated guys complained about Nonhle’s rudeness. They said that instead of being strict, she became rude to them.
MaBlerh and Mary came out guns blazing and revealed how disastrous their relationships were with Nonhle.
I admit, were times too when I thought that the master was being too rude.
I remember one day when she woke up the contestants at 4am for an early work out. She complained that they “woke up moody” before walking out on them. But seriously Nonhle, it was four in the morning. Were you expecting them to wake up with big smiles on their faces? Do you wake up with a he smile on your face at 4am? Just asking.
Mablerh just couldn’t hide his feelings about Nonhle.

He was obviously still bitter about his elimination and was certainly not shy to let his feelings known.
Malberh was eliminated the week he contracted flue. That week, he didn’t train and was on bed rest, was on medication and gained weight, putting him in the bottom two. Nonhle scored her low on attitude leading to his elimination.
I felt that Nonhle was unfair, eliminating him like that. These two clearly had issues and Nonhle seized the opportunity to get rid of the guy when he was at his lowest.
But Mablerh where did you disappear to when Bonginkosi was crowned?
I also felt that Mary was unfairly eliminated. The week she was eliminated, Bonginkosi was supposed to go home. But seeing that he was Nonhle’s favourite, my Mary was sent packing. Seriously, how did that attitude scale work because seriously, I never understood it. I still don’t.
But some like Hlengiwe and Bonginkosi clearly didn’t let Nonhle’s attitude get to them. They had nothing but good things to say about their trainer.
Rather, they used that to their advantage, doing exactly as they were told. No wonder they made it to the finals.
Bitterness and hating aside. Congratulations to you girl. You did a good job training those contestants. I am sure they will forever be grateful for your efforts.
And congratulations to Bonginkosi for winning this season’s competition and walking away with a whooping R200 000 grand prize. You surely deserve the prize. You were consistent in your workout and hardworking from the day you walked into the house.
Congratulations to Bonginkosi- Bootcamp

You even lost your job just to be in the boot camp house and I am happy you won the prize. I also hope that you are fit enough to keep up with your boys, especially the youngest whom you once described as the most active
I was surely going to be disappointed had Hlengiwe been crowned the winner. I mean she once bragged that she left millions of rands at home. She clearly didn’t need the money if she had that much on her bank account.
