The 14th edition of the National Arts Merits Award (NAMA) was held at the 7Arts Theatre in Avondale,Harare over the weekend.

The event, which ran under the theme "Proud of Zimbabwe" was co-hosted by socialite and comedian Babongile Sikhonjwa, South African based Zimbabwe-born actor, Leeroy Gapol and Patience Musa.

Amongst the winners was Bathabile Dlamini, a second year Journalism and Media Studies student at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) who walked away with the Outstanding Actress Award for her role in Umbiko kaMadlenya that was first showcased during Intwasa Arts Festival KoBulawayo.

Umbiko KaMaDlenya dominated the event, scooping all theater awards.

No wonder the event was nicknamed BAMA's (Bulawayo Arts Merit Awards) by Twimboz on social media platform Twitter as Bulawayo artistes dominated the event.
