Lets talk selfies

Lets admit it, we all like taking selfies, whether we fully dressed, semi-naked or completely naked. Truth be told, most of us have probably captured at least a semi-naked pic of ourselves at some point in our lives.
Some have gone to the extremes and captured X-rated videos while playing with themselves . Others have recorded sex-tapes with their smartphones, camcorders and laptops.
When capturing these intimate moments, I bet most people have no intention non-whatsoever to have these in the public domain. I assume they are meant to be for private use, to be shared with partners.
But have you asked yourself what you will do or what will become of you in event these private, intimate moments of yourself find their way into the public domain? Have you ever imagined what will happen if someone else accidentally finds these and share them on social media platforms like Whats app and Facebook??
Let me help you  imagine the possibilities. Depending on the quality of your pictures and sex-tape, you

• may wake an overnight celebrity like the Kim K's of this world
• may be forced to resign from your job  
• may be fired from your job like Tin Tin or Vanessa Williams
• loose your dignity as a human being.
• can expose your children (if you have any) and your entire family to ridicule and discrimination by the community.
• send the wrong message about yourself 
• get negatively labelled or stereotyped to a point where people don't recognize your abilities, talents and achievements beyond the nudity itself. 

But this is one risk u don't wanna take because you have no idea how your pictures or videos might he received and i strongly advise that you don't take this route even if you want a shortcut to fame.

Unfortunately these are some of the possibilities that people never think about  before capturing those intimate moments of themselves. there is a belief that once deleted, the files are safe, never to be discovered again.
However, technicians can actually retrieve your data from your mobile device long after you have deleted and forgotten about those pictures and videos.
I am sure when Bulawayo upcoming model Catherine Kapakwa aka Cathy Dreamer took those nudes, she had no idea that someone will find them and leak them to the public.
Cathy Dreamer took her cellphone for repairs and the technician managed to retrieve her pornographic video clips and pictures and leaked them to the public.  Cathy Dreamer joins a list of  other Zimbabwean personalities like Tinopona Katsande better known as Tin Tin, Pokello Nare, Thabiso Phiri and Malaika Mashundu whose pornographic material were leaked on Social media.
Tin Tin was fired from her ZiiFm job in 2013 over her leaked sex video and Phiri was forced to resign as Miss Zimbabwe after her pictures went viral.
Unfortunately, under these circumstances, its the women who get vilified, judged and labelled as loose. I never heard Fabrice Mbimba, a Dynamos player, being judged for his leaked  porn video that as leaked late last year. Most people do not even know about it but they know about the Tin Tin, Pokello , Thabiso etc.
