The Ninth edition of  the  South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTA’s) were held over the weekend and I must say, I am not shocked that Isibaya actors and behind the scenes talent scooped seven gongs in total out of the ten it received during the nomination process.

Isibaya is one of the biggest soap operas  in Mzansi and airs weeknights on DStv channel 161 from 2030-2100 and I am a biggest fan of the show. I never miss it, well if Zesa is there.

The awards won by the soap opera include:
  •  Best Achievement in Costume Design
  •   Best Achievement in Art / Design Production
  •   Best Achievement in Editing
  • Best Achievement in Cinematography

No doubt, Isibaya once again proved to be the biggest soapie in Mzansi.

Other winners included Jamie Bartlett who won best actor in a lead role (TV Soap) for his character as David Genaro(Daddy D) in the Etv soapie Rhythm City. Daddy D,who has won this ward before, has also proven that he is indeed a force to be reckoned with in the entertainment industry.
